The Department of Metrology and Standardization is a specialized department and the only one for training military specialists in metrological activities for military units and subdivisions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other power structures in the field of defense of Ukraine.

     The department has extensive experience in training military specialists-metrologists, has an appropriate material and technical base. The department introduces the latest information and measuring systems into the educational process and studies modern measuring equipment, control and testing equipment, mobile measuring equipment laboratories. Also, During their training, higher education applicants also have the opportunity to acquire skills in the use, metrological verification, and repair of measuring equipment, as well as knowledge of the technological process for restoring fire control systems on armored vehicles and equipment (AVE) and the technological process of maintenance and restoration of counter-battery radar station (CBRS).The department employs highly qualified scientific and pedagogical staff: 1 Doctor of Technical Sciences, 4 Candidates of Technical Sciences, including 1 Professor and 3 Associate Professors, who pass on their experience and knowledge to higher education applicants. In recent years, the department has defended 1 dissertation for the degree of Doctor of Technical Sciences and 1 dissertation for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy.

   The training of applicants for higher education and attendees is carried out in the field of “Engineering, Production and Construction” in the specialty G6 “Information and Measurement Technologies”, specializations “Metrology and Measuring Equipment of the Armed Forces units” at the first (bachelor’s) level; and ‘Metrology and Information-Measuring Technologies’ at the second (master’s) level of higher education.

      Scientific directions of the department:

– generalization, systematization of measuring and diagnostic tasks that are solved during the maintenance of systems and complexes;

– development of a unified system-technical approach to the construction of automated systems for measuring control and diagnostics of weapons and military equipment (WME);

– development and implementation of methodological foundations of metrological maintenance of test systems and complexes, taking into account their current state, as well as the composition and condition of the fleet of measuring equipment;

– development of theoretical and applied foundations for improving the effectiveness of metrological support of weapons and military equipment (WME) at all stages of the life cycle;

– development of principles and methods of managing the metrological support of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine during preparation and during combat operations.

    A military specialist-metrologist is being trained to fill primary positions in metrological units and divisions, repair units, and research institutions: engineer of the department (department) of the regional metrological military unit, head of the laboratory of the military unit, head of the metrology and standardization service of the military unit, junior research fellow.
