The Department of Foreign Languages focuses on equipping cadets and officers with practical communication skills, crucial for effective linguistic interoperability with NATO member states. The curriculum includes a progression from general English to general military English, culminating in specialized military or engineering language studies.

     Reflecting its practical approach, the department’s motto is: “We teach English, not textbooks!”. 

   The department consists of 16 academic staff members, including four PhD holders. All teachers have international study experience, notably in the USA, Canada, Austria, Germany, Hungary, Slovenia, and Bulgaria. Classroom  administrators and the laboratory engineering and technical staff support the educational process.

    The department provides training to cadets and master officers from various faculties, including anti-aircraft missile troops, automated control systems and ground support of aviation flights, air defense radio engineering troops, and Army air defense. Additionally, it serves adjuncts, part-time cadets of the Faculty of Postgraduate Education, and Armed Forces personnel attending foreign language courses.

       The Department of Foreign Languages teaches the following disciplines:

           − Foreign Language (General Course);
           − Foreign Language (General Military Course);
           − Foreign Language (Specialized Military Course);

           − Foreign Language (Specialized Engineering Course);
           − Fundamentals of Interlingual and Intercultural Communication;
           − Foreign Language for Adjuncts;
           − Foreign Language (English) for the language training courses for the personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

    To enrich students’ experiences and foster intercultural communication, the Department of Foreign Languages organizes extracurricular activities. These events allow students to integrate English into their daily lives in an engaging way, improving their pronunciation, speed and fluency, while reinforcing grammar and vocabulary learned in the classroom.
